What I Cover

I focus on keeping people safe in the world of online dating. That means looking closely at fraud, scams, and the ways users can protect themselves. I write about spotting red flags, reporting suspicious behavior, and understanding the safety features (and risks) built into dating apps.

For example, I often hear from users who’ve gotten messages from someone claiming to need money while traveling — a classic scam, but one that still catches people off guard. Sharing these real-life examples helps readers recognize the signs before it’s too late.

I also look beyond individual tips. I’m interested in how platforms, policies, and design choices shape safer online communities. How does verification really work? What gaps in security leave users exposed? How can education and proactive safety measures prevent harm before it happens? My goal is to give readers insights they can act on — whether it’s recognizing a scam, protecting their identity, or just feeling more confident navigating the online dating world.

I like to combine practical advice with the bigger picture, exploring both day-to-day safety strategies and the systemic challenges platforms face. That way, my work can be useful not just for users, but for anyone interested in building safer, healthier online spaces.

My Background

Before joining Luxy, I worked with digital safety nonprofits and consulted for online platforms on community protection strategies. I’ve led workshops and webinars across the United States, teaching users how to spot scams, verify identities, and interact safely online.

My work blends education, advocacy, and hands-on research, helping everyday users understand digital threats without feeling overwhelmed. I stay on top of emerging scams, evolving threats, and new safety tools, so I can provide advice that’s current, actionable, and practical. Over the years, I’ve seen everything from fake profiles trying to lure users with sob stories, to accounts impersonating real people — and I bring those experiences into my writing to make safety guidance tangible and relatable.

Editorial Ethics

I take transparency and honesty seriously. I report independently, never share sensitive user information, and always verify my sources before publishing.

Responsible journalism in online dating isn’t just about telling stories — it’s about empowering readers to protect themselves. Every article I write is aimed at giving people the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe, while also highlighting how platforms can do better. My mission is simple: help readers feel confident, informed, and secure in the digital dating world — whether that’s spotting a scam, understanding safety features, or just knowing they’re not alone in navigating this space.
